Youth Football Uniforms Should They Be Different?
Any fan of football knows that the youth football uniforms used by college players are extremely similar to those used by the pros. A pervading question in the game today is, Should they be?
Of course, youth football uniforms serve the same purpose as the sportswear used by the pros. It is designed to protect the bodies of the player from the incredible stresses and impacts they experience in the course of the game. The question arises, however, from the fact that the bodies of college players are different than those of their professional counterparts.
Remember that a sixteen year-old student does not have the fully developed musculature or even height of a twenty-two year-old professional player. Why should they be wearing essentially the same uniform?
Perhaps youth football uniforms should be customized or altered to the changing shapes and sizes of those who don them. After all, a tailor can easily tell you that a suit made to fit your body perfectly will serve you much better than a generic one-size-fits-all suit off the wrack. Many think that the time has come to pay the same type of consideration to the garb of college football players & football Teams.
