For those of you intimidated by the flashiness of Las Vegas, Nevada, there is a more approachable gambling hotspot- Atlantic City. Located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean in Atlantic County, New Jersey, it soars with various types of entertainment and nightlife. Those vacationing with family can enjoy the sandy beaches and the boardwalk that stretches beyond four miles long. There are also tons of attractions, from taking an Atlantic City cruise to climbing New Jersey’s tallest lighthouse to going on over 25 rides and Go Karts at the Steel Pier. There are also many shopping destinations, from high-end retail to well-know brand outlets and local souvenir shops. And of course, there are those glitzy casinos where one can play multiple variations of poker, slots, roulette, blackjack and many more. Out of more than a dozen casinos located in Atlantic City, everybody can find what they are looking for, and any level of experience is welcome.
Atlantic City celebrated its 30th anniversary in May 2008. The first of currently many Atlantic City casinos was opened as soon as it was approved in 1978. The celebration began May 26th with a fireworks display and lasted four days, making it clear that gambling in Atlantic City has come a long way.
