Initially producing a number of quality aluminium household goods, water bottles has been the lone focus of SIGG since 1999. SIGG bottles are legendary for their striking, unique patterns and BPA free aluminium construction. A number of companies make claims to be environmentally responsible without ever contributing to programs to help protect the environment. SIGG, on the other hand, back up their claims to be at the cutting edge of environmentally friendly production by taking part in the 1% for The Planet program. As the name suggests, SIGG donates 1% of their worldwide sales to various environmental programs. By buying a SIGG water bottle, you’re not just buying a quality product, but you are also directly contributing to a better tomorrow.

SIGG recognises this danger, and as such all of their water bottles are 100% BPA-free. BPA, or bisphenol A, is a highly deadly chemical commonly found in conventional plastic water bottles. Plastic water bottles, when reused or heated, can leech BPA into the liquid within the bottle. Results obtained from official studies have suggested that BPA can cause irregular hormone levels and even neurological issues. Phthalates are also added to the compound which forms the plastic lining within a conventional bottle. These have been linked to allergies and even obesity. The long and short of it is you re better off playing it safe with a BPA free bottle.

SIGG aluminium bottles use a lining that SIGG has coined ‘EcoCare’. EcoCare’s technologically advanced construction ensures that it is not only leach proof, but also resistant to odours, acids and flavours. This ensures that no flavours or odours from previously consumed energy drinks, alcohol, fruit juice and soft drinks are left in the bottle the next time you use it. Try getting the same results from a regular plastic water bottle after leaving an energy drink in it overnight!

The bottles are made from a seamless piece of aluminium. This creates a product that is incredibly strong, durable and leak-proof. As such, SIGG is the preferred brand for many hikers and campers. The bottle tops (of which there are three varieties) are also leak proof and fit any aluminium SIGG bottle over 1,000 combinations are possible, so you can express yourself nicely with the bottle. SIGG likes to keep things fresh and each year they introduce over 100 new patterns. Whether you prefer bold prints, subtle prints or something a bit different, SIGG has a water bottle for every taste. Some of SIGG’s patterns are so unique and sort after that top fashion designers including Tommy Hilfiger and Kenneth Cole have even been known to design custom water bottles for auction. Of course, proceeds went to helping global warming. Not only does SIGG pride itself on producing a quality product, but on helping sustain the very resources used to create such fantastic water bottles.

As in many of the sports which are most popular among athletic people, accidents are possible with horseback riding. We can never completely remove an element of danger from active sports and I suppose riding isn’t up there near white water kayaking, scuba diving or driving in a car. Still we should try to reduce risks as much as possible. One of the easiest ways to cut down on serious accidents is by wearing a riding helmet. It is about as basic as strapping on your seatbelt and almost as easy to do. I have found that they are pretty comfortable and not onerous to wear. To call someone a coward because they wear one is simply ridiculous. Bravery is not to be confused with heedlessness and I see little merit in courting danger for no good reason. Head injuries are the worst kind because, unlike a broken leg, they often do not heal properly even if they are not mortal and recovery times can be very long at best. Wearing a good riding helmet can usually avoid, or at least mitigate, head injuries.

In view of the safety aspects of riding helmets it seems to me unpardonable that very few dude ranches require their guests to wear hard hats. No doubt they fear that they would turn away business if they insisted on this basic safety precaution. Probably they are right because many guests want to make a fashion statement with their Marlboro hats and a cigarette clamped between their steely jaws. Is it worth the extra business to have to live with the thought that you could have avoided even just one life changing head injury?

What a exceptional summertime it has been. We went on an awesome mountain bike mountain bike ride through the Sequoias. It was an magnificent trip, but began with the dragging drive. My gear was packed with my bike ready the night before. I started the ride up alone as I left early from the office. I was on a race against time as I was supposed to meet my buddies at the top of the mountain road, marked by a picnic table, at eight pm. I knew my window of opportunity was about 30 mins. After that time, they were to expect that I got held up and would try again at the same spot at 10am the next day. This means if I was too late, I would end up sleeping in my car alone that night.

Turns out I made it through traffic and up the hill in time to unhook my bike, crack open a beer and mountain bike ride up and down a couple of little hills before dark and before my buddies would arrive. The fresh air was brilliant and it was nice to be away the city. My Santa Cruz Heckler was in tip top shape and ready to tear up some rails and free riding, fresh out of the shop. Friends arrived beers in hand and ready to show me where the campsite was.

We began our mtn bike ride the next morning, each if us carrying 40lb packs ensuring enough food and water to last at least 12hrs of long hard riding. The first hill was killer and was a rude awakening to a very long mtn bike ride. We pedaled over 10 miles uphill, that took over 2hrs. It was a exceptional feeling to finally make it to the top. We took a break and sipped some water from our stainless steel water bottles.

The rest of the day was spent busting tricks, hitting logs and enticing each other to go big. A couple of breaks were in order throughout the day where we drank a bit of booze and shared treats we had packed away. The dirt was just right. Not too dry as to cause any dust and not too wet that our wheels would get stuck. There was a bit of ice still left on the ground from the spring melt. The temperature was perfect, not too hot, not too cold.

When you walk into a jewelry store and see all the diamonds in all of the various settings that are for sale, it is difficult to realize that diamonds are indeed rare. Most people don't even stop to consider how that diamond came to be sitting in that jeweler's case! There is quite a bit of work that is done before a diamond is ready to sell to the general public!

The huge options of camping stoves marked with technical phrases that a layman would not get, could can be overwhelming for those who aren’t so seasoned when it comes to bushcraft camping and purchasing camping cooking stoves. Even So, buying the right camping cooking stove isn’t as hard as it may look.

With these information and good tips, selection and purchase would be much easier

Size

Camping brands such as Coleman offer one, 2 and multiple burner camping cooking stoves. If you are solo packing, a camping stove with 1 or 2 burner may do but if you want to go camping with the whole family or plan to have a camping cook banquet with some mates, go for a camping cooking stove which has 2 or more burners to save lots of time cooking.

Kind of Fuel

After deciding which stove size is acceptable for your camping desires, the following thing to think about is the sort of fuel you’ll be wanting to use. Your fuel options include propane, white gas ( otherwise known as Coleman fuel ), unleaded gas, butane or kerosene. Nonetheless it is typically commended to use either propane or white gas only. Out of all of the camping cooking stoves, those that are powered by white gas produce the most heat. It’s the more environment-friendly choice for it burns cleanly without any odour or effect on food taste as well as produces less waste. Many of the Coleman camping cooking stoves that are fuelled with white gas operate on twin fuel system that means the cooking stove can run either on white gas or unleaded petrol.

However, it’s best that you use only white gas unless during cases when you run out of it and can’t buy any. But propane Coleman camping stoves are also great decisions due to their easiness to operate and ignite, and good performance in warm climates and at low elevations.

Most Coleman camping cooking stoves powered with propane fuel actually have electronic ignitions to save some time and energy. Sort of Camping Activity another thing worth considering to make is the kind of camping you plan to do during your trip. For example, if you intend to go back packing, select a camping stove that is light, has a single burner for this is better to carry in your load. But if you plan to go on a family camping trip, a group hike or RV camping, it is more suitable to select 3 or 4 burner stoves that would let you make a grand fiesta for everybody.

Now, if you are intending to go on a beach camping trip or have a yard party where you may possibly wish to do some barbecuing on the side, a mixture of a cooking stove and griddle is the ideal choice for you. Many woodland camp brands like Coleman provides you with a big range of quality camp cooking stoves and background info on its features to make your decision much easier.

With the Chinese preparing for the impending summer Olympic Games, Bahadur Sherchan noted that the government’s actions hardly reflected the Olympic spirit. Sherchan just 18 days away from his 77th birthday beat the age record set last year by 71-year-old Japanese teacher Katsusuke Yanagisawa.

“The Chinese weren’t allowing anybody on Everest. They ended up commandeering it for themselves, even though Mt Everest is shared by two countries. The Chinese were flying their airplanes over Chomolungma or Mount Everest and had Chinese officials in Kathmandu. Now that Andrew Brash has successfully scaled the tallest mountain in the world, he is once again ready to focus on his family. More than 3298 people have climbed to the summit since it was first conquered in 1953 by New Zealander Edmund Hillary, who died in January, and Nepal’s Tenzing Norgay.

Hall was frostbitten and severely disoriented due to altitude sickness. Min Bahadur Sherchan returned a hero to Calgarians. “Mount Everest this year became a political pawn,” he said with some frustration.

The 77-year-old man from Nepal is now the oldest person to have reached the top of Chomolungma. Min Bahadur Sherchan last attempt resulted in the rescue of Lincoln Hall, an Australian climber who was left by his team in the “death zone.”

His first found him within 223 metres of the peak when his team stopped to help a fellow mountaineer who was left for dead. Three years later, Bahadur Sherchan, a University of Calgary alumni, returned to the Mount Everest to finish what he had started.

Further, he was all too aware of the potential dangers Mt Everest could bring. Certain parts of the climb are more dangerous than others and it is important for climbers to remain focused However, the decision to actualize a long-time personal goal left Andrew Brash with some internal uncertainties, he cited the political actions of China and Nepal as providing the greatest adversity he faced on his journey. Climber from Nepal, 75, oldest person to scale the top of Mount Everest. They flexed their muscles this year all the in name of the Olympic spirit, but it was hardly spirited at all.”

This year alpinist Anthony Loeff is reporting the scales for Chomolungma or Mount Everest after reaching the peak of Kilimanjaro in Tanzania earlier this season.

Min Bahadur Sherchan returned this week from Nepal after successfully climbing to the summit of Chomolungma. Bahadur Sherchan and four climbing guides reached the 29,035-foot (8,850-meters) summit of the world’s highest mountain early Sunday, said Ramesh Chretri, an official with Nepal’s ministry of tourism.

They basically coerced the Nepali government to not allow any climbers past camp two on the Nepali side. As he planned for the climb, Sherchan told reporters he wanted to inspire fellow senior citizens. He also said many Nepalese have established records on the Mount Everest, so it was only fitting that the record for the oldest climber to reach the summit should also belong to a Nepali.
